Subject: …and then there were three!
Spellwriters!
"Pain is easy to write" Graham Greene once wrote. "In pain we're all drably individual, but what can one write about happiness?"
This is stupid. I can think of many things to write about happiness. "YIPPEE!" and "YOWZA!" come to mind immediately. Either of these would have made a wonderful addition to Greene's a-tad-too-gloomy prose. Consider the following (and slightly modified) quotation from 'The End of the Affair' in which Sarah addresses God:
""I'm sorry," I said. "I love you more ... and let me kiss him, and I thought I am kissing pain and pain belongs to You as happiness never does. I love You in Your pain. AAAWWW SNAP MONEY G! LIFE IS GREAT!!""
So there you have it: Greene was wrong. There's plenty to write about happiness. And how would I know? I would know because just today I learned that TOR has made an offer to buy not one, not two, but three of my books!
This makes me more than happy; it makes me ecstatic, euphoric, ebullient! Spellwright will at last see the light of day with a wonderful agent, a wonderful editor, and a wonderful publishing house!
Okay, I'm about to hit my daily exclamation quota, so I'm going to make the rest of this short. Much thanks and love as always to all of you out there that have helped me deal with the long wait. You all are the best!
Love as always.
